Beginning a couple of weeks ago, rumors had started amongst the youth of Rustboro that a strange ghost had taken up residence in the cemetery on the outskirts of the city. On certain nights, typically nights of the new moon, a soft weeping would begin. The cries of this banshee would summon an aggressive cast of ghost Pokémon that attacked or chased off any mortal that dared tread in its domain. [break][break]

The sky is clear, but it might as well be dark. Another new moo, and the soft cries of something that sounded all too human. Occasionally, a red eyeball would appear form the shadows before disappearing again. Something was clearly keeping watch. But what? And why?

it was hardly often that rory ever found themself straying inland, especially towards rustboro - but previously local rumors had spread vaguely toward the coast; they drifted eventually through the ghostly thug's ears.

hauntings? ghost pokémon attacking those who investigate? weeping under new moons? forever typical, rory was intrigued and let interest guide their path through hoenn. fresh on the night of a high, illuminative orb hanging overhead, rory donned their silken luminous tarot-fashioned robes and ventured into the darkness of an abandoned cemetery on rustboro territory, many of their companions tucked safely into their capsules. into the wayward throes of disembodied sobs, only a fluttering froslass kept the rocket company.

neither spoke if not softly to each other, surveying their forward and back to ensure there were no surprises. and they'd never been particularly prone to scaring easily - not in the face of other apparations, anyway.

The intruders don’t particularly look menacing, but Mikey’s red eyes in the shadows was. Or would be if either Rory or their Frosslass took notice. He’s a little miffed they don’t, really. But then again, they didn’t seem like too much. Better than the last few visitors that had just amount to a rowdy looking group of trainers. From a few stray kids doing tests of courage, to very obnoxious older teens shouting and yelling at 2 in the morning. He wished they stopped sleeping out here. [break][break]

The crying shifted, slowly turning from whimpers and cut off sobs to a low, groaning wail. The kind that you had only in private. There’s a turn in the mood, as Rory and the Frosslass unknowingly moved closer to the little hide out. There’s a visible movement within the shadows, further aggravated with every wail near a white mausoleum, with carved flowers around the plaque of the deceased. Eyes glow from the shadows darting around and about in every direction as the inky masses quiver and shake in response to every wail, the noise and the negativity of it all agitating whatever ghosts had congregated in the cemetery. [break][break]

Orbs of a glowing orange, and then, yellow, blue and white flared up in an attempt to cut them off, The Dusclops themselves letting out a, hopefully, menacing groan. Seemingly at random robs flared up and died down almost like they were following a heartbeat. Mikey positioned himself behind the Will-O-wisp attack, unwilling to strike first, but also unable to let them investigate any further.
